What You’ll Be Doing (Position Summary):
Accountable for managing multiple development projects, groups, and support functions for major business lines. Oversees the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide systems, including Intellect IDAL Liquidity Management, Cash Management, and Payments. Ensures delivery excellence, team growth, and alignment with CIBC’s strategic objectives.

How You’ll Succeed (Responsibilities):
Delivery Management:
Oversee multiple concurrent development projects, ensuring timely, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery of solutions.
Technical Leadership:
Lead teams in building robust solutions using C#, Java, Angular JS, Azure, Postgre
SQL, Databricks, Mongo
DB, Kubernetes (Open Shift), and Intellect IDAL 25+.
Champion best practices in solution design and architecture (design patterns).
People Leadership:
Direct, motivate, and develop staff to foster a high-performance culture.
Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to team members.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with business, technology, and external partners to define requirements and deliver solutions that meet organizational needs.
Solution Design:
Guide architectural decisions and ensure alignment across work streams to support enterprise objectives.
Financial Oversight:
Manage project budgets and resource allocation to optimize delivery and support strategic priorities.
Compliance:
Ensure team adherence to CIBC and regulatory standards, maintaining robust governance and control.
People Management:
Set appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals’ roles support the achievement of the business unit’s priorities and CIBC’s overall goals,
Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training.
Manage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance and by explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities.
Create a positive work environment and being an effective role model by championing CIBC’s mission, vision and values.
Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect.
Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goal.
Experience:
10+ years of experience
Who You Are (Skills/Qualifications):
Must Have
Skills:
10+ years in technical architecture, solutions design, or data engineering (big data environments).
5+ years leading teams, preferably in a matrix model.
Demonstrated experience with Intellect IDAL Liquidity, Cash, and Payments.
Expertise in C#, Java, Azure, Kubernetes, Intellect IDAL 25+, and solution design.
Experience with Databricks and enterprise payments/cash management solutions.
Azure Dev and Architecture certification (preferred).
Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
