Role Overview

We are seeking a Technical Skills Development Manager to join our Operations Development Function (PMO) on a permanent basis. In this high‑impact role, you will shape the technical capability of our geospatial teams—strengthening standards, developing training pathways, and ensuring our people remain at the forefront of geospatial innovation.

This is a hybrid position offering flexibility to work from home or your nearest regional office, with periodic travel across the UK, Ireland, and Europe for team development, capability assessments, and on‑site technical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set-out and implement an effective geospatial training and development strategy to close skills gaps, strengthen technical capabilities and align to business needs.
  • Collaborate with the geospatial departments to develop industry leading technical training and development programmes.
  • Work with Project Managers of major strategic projects to ensure the required technical capabilities and structures are in place to deliver effectively and efficiently.
  • Travel to regional offices and project locations (Europe wide) to undertake on site project reviews, capability assessments and training.
  • In areas of expertise, deliver geospatial survey training, also developing and maintaining standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with the HR team on the wider learning and development strategy, systems and initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of an effective mentorship development scheme.
  • Promoting and mentoring staff through accredited survey schemes (CICES/RICS/SCSI).
  • Keep up to date with developments in geospatial technologies and training practises.
Role Requirements
  • Proven experience training, mentoring, and developing geospatial surveyors or processors
  • Strong technical understanding across multiple geospatial disciplines
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication abilities
  • Willingness to travel across the UK, Ireland, and Europe as required
  • Full right to work in the UK or Ireland
