We are seeking an experienced Digital Project Manager to lead and coordinate the development of next-generation automotive user interface (UI) solutions. This role bridges design, engineering, and product strategy to deliver intuitive, high-performance in-vehicle digital experiences across infotainment systems, instrument clusters, ambient lighting and connected services. The ideal candidate has a strong background in digital product management, experience working with UX/UI teams, and familiarity with automotive development processes and HMI (Human‑Machine Interface) standards.

You’ll Do
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of automotive UI design projects from concept through production.
  • Define project scope, timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Manage cross-functional teams including UX/UI designers, software engineers, system architects, and electrical engineers.
  • Ensure alignment with McLaren requirements, design direction, brand guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently design decisions to Senior stakeholders through design programmes process, with ability to present concisely and with confidence autonomously.
  • Collaborate with the UI/UX Manager on executing the wider creative strategy specific to digital and beyond, linking all design work back to our bigger Brand picture.
  • Ensure timely delivery while maintaining high design and technical quality standards.
  • Sensitivity to impeccable luxury design DNA in support of modern luxury design.
  • Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Familiarity with automotive platforms such as Android Automotive OS.
  • Strong experience taking vehicle programmes from beginning of the UI design process through to production.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in digital media, Human‑Computer Interaction, Design, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital project management, preferably within automotive, mobility, or embedded systems.
  • Proven experience managing UX/UI design projects in complex technical environments.
  • Strong understanding of HMI systems, infotainment platforms, and in‑vehicle software ecosystems.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional and international teams.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of vehicle networking (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and embedded software constraints.
  • A calm collected individual that thrives at a fast pace whilst being efficient with their time and workload.
  • Strategic thinking with strong execution focus.
  • Technical fluency in digital systems.
  • Risk management in hardware-software integration.
  • User‑centered mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in agile, innovation-driven environments.
  • Flexibility: agile with working across multiple locations whether manufacturing sites or design offices. Being clever with remote working parallel to reacting to the needs of the business week by week.
