The Role

The Platform Design and Research team at Coinbase is crucial in realizing our vision for global economic freedom. This team leads the development of secure, trusted, and user-friendly cryptocurrency products for both newcomers to crypto and seasoned users.

As a Senior Staff Product Designer, you will actively contribute to our mission, vision, and strategy by understanding customer and business needs. Your role will involve crafting seamless user journeys that empower our customers to navigate cryptocurrency confidently. Collaboration with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams will be key to creating intuitive experiences that reflect the Coinbase brand.

This position offers remote work flexibility for candidates in the US or Canada.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead and implement complex design initiatives across various product areas, aligning with Coinbase's overall goals.

Work collaboratively to shape product vision and strategy while influencing stakeholders across the organization.

Define and enhance user experiences for essential customer journeys, ensuring they are intuitive and engaging.

Collaborate with Design Systems teams to develop scalable components that maintain quality and consistency across all products.

Analyze user needs and business objectives to deliver innovative solutions that yield measurable results.

Engage in all project phases, from planning and strategy to execution and retrospectives, ensuring design excellence consistently.

Serve as a thought leader in product design, mentoring team members and fostering a culture of innovation.

Leverage emerging AI tools to streamline prototyping, ideation, and workflows.

What We Look For in You

Expertise in Product Design: A minimum of 10 years of experience designing consumer-focused products for web and mobile, with a robust portfolio demonstrating your skills in UX, visual design, and communication.

Systems Thinking:
Proven ability to design at scale and create reusable components that improve efficiency and consistency.

Collaboration and Influence:
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to persuade stakeholders across various teams.

Strategic Impact:
Experience in driving design strategy and aligning with product roadmaps that achieve business and customer objectives.

Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools, with experience in conducting user research to inform design choices.

Nice to Haves

Experience in Fin Tech or cryptocurrency design.
