About the roleAs a Service Now Platform Engineer, your primary focus will be on the design, configuration, optimisation, and ongoing evolution of the Service Now platform. This role is centred on ensuring the platform delivers real business value—supporting operational efficiency, automation, and scalable service management across the organisation.
You will work closely with technology, operations, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into effective Service Now solutions, and ensure the platform is configured and governed to a high standard. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to specialise deeply in Service Now while operating in a complex, enterprise-scale environment.
Responsibilities- Own and contribute to the development, configuration, and optimisation of the Service Now platform
- Design and implement Service Now solutions that support ITSM and wider enterprise workflows
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable Service Now configurations
- Configure workflows, business rules, forms, UI policies, and integrations within Service Now
- Support platform governance, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure platform stability, performance, security, and maintainability
- Assist with upgrades, releases, and change management related to the Service Now platform
- Provide technical guidance and support to users and teams interacting with Service Now
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing around platform usage and standards
- Strong hands‑on experience with the Service Now platform in a production environment
- Proven experience configuring and supporting Service Now modules (e.g. ITSM or related areas)
- Solid understanding of Service Now architecture, workflows, and configuration best practices
- Experience translating business and operational requirements into Service Now solutions
- Comfortable working in a large, structured organisation with multiple stakeholders
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Clear communication skills, able to work with both technical and non‑technical teams
- Experience with additional Service Now modules beyond core ITSM
- Exposure to integrations between Service Now and third‑party systems
- Experience supporting Service Now in regulated or enterprise environments
- Familiarity with Service Now upgrade cycles, release management, or platform governance
- Service Now certifications (e.g. CSA or module‑specific certifications)
