E-Commerce Technical Architect

Cognizant is looking for a Technical Architect who will be pivotal in shaping the commerce architecture within the education domain. With a hybrid work model and day shifts the candidate will leverage their extensive experience to drive innovation and efficiency. This position requires a strategic thinker who can integrate technical expertise with domain knowledge to enhance educational platforms.

Role: E-Commerce Technical Architect (SAP Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud or Big Commerce)

Remote. Candidate must be in the U.S

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $150,000/Year to $180,000/Year depending on the experience and other qualifications of the candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

• Lead the design and development of commerce architecture solutions tailored for the education domain
• Design and govern end-to-end e-commerce architecture using platforms like SAP Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or Big Commerce, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Define and oversee identity, session, and authorization models, ensuring secure access, role-based permissions, and compliance across channels.
• Lead system integrations with CMS (Adobe Experience Manager), integration platforms (Mule Soft, IBM Web Sphere), payment gateways, and address management services.
• Drive modern MACH-based architecture implementations, including search solutions (Algolia), headless commerce patterns, and cloud-native services.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to evaluate AI use cases, improve customer experience, and ensure architectural standards are followed during delivery.

• Atleast 10+ Yrs experience in Ecommerce using any of the following SAP Commerce (hybris), Big Commerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
• Knowledge on identity and session management
• Knowledge on Authorization/permission management
• Experience working with integration platforms like Mulesoft, IBM Websphere
• Knowledge on Adobe experience Manager, content management solution or similar solution
• Fundamentals of AI
• Experience working with payment gateways or payment solutions
• Experience working with Tax and address management solutions
• Experience with building MACH architecture
• Experience working with search engines like Algolia
• Experience building D2C and B2B ecommerce sites
• Knowledge of integrating with order management systems like Oracle, SAP
• Possess a deep understanding of commerce architecture principles and practices
• Demonstrate expertise in the education domain with a focus on technology integration
• Exhibit proficiency in English for effective communication and documentation
• Showcase experience in designing scalable and efficient architecture solutions
• Have a proven track record of successful project delivery in a hybrid work environment
• Display strong analytical skills to assess and optimize system performance
• Demonstrate ability to collaborate with diverse teams to achieve common goals.
