We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer - Journeyman Level (Conversational AI) to serve as a Prompt Engineer and Conversational Designer supporting Army National Guard initiatives. This role focuses on designing intelligent conversational experiences for virtual training assistants and AI-enabled self-service platforms.

The ideal candidate blends technical engineering expertise with strong conversational design skills and a deep understanding of user interaction patterns, automation logic, and AI solution frameworks.

• Design conversational flows, dialogue logic, and prompts for virtual training assistants (e.g., enterprise virtual agent platforms)
• Develop guardrails, fallback paths, and response logic to ensure reliable AI interactions
• Create quality measurement frameworks to evaluate AI-assisted training solutions
• Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and SMEs to optimize conversational performance
• Analyze conversation logs and refine prompts to improve outcomes and accuracy
• Develop methodologies and present technical solutions independently

• Active Secret Security Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
• 5+ years of experience in any one of the below :

  • AI-assisted solution development
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and deliver solutions with minimal supervision

• Vendor certifications related to Virtual Agents, Conversational AI, or AI platforms
• ITIL 4 certification or familiarity with IT service management practices
• Experience designing enterprise-grade chatbot or AI assistant solutions
