The Infrastructure Support Technician along with the Infrastructure Team will provide hardware and datacenter support to the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Provides desktop build and end user support functions to corporate users
- Provides server OS build and hardware installs into datacenters.
- Identifies, researches, and resolves first level technical problems for back office desktops, servers and network, escalating to Infrastructure Engineers as necessary.
- Provides reporting and monthly data gathering for security audits and customer SLAs.
- Organization, inventory management and controlled disposal of hardware.
- Employee add/move/change for desktop hardware, network accounts and access cards.
This individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, education, and/or ability required.
Required TechnicalSkills:
- Current version Windows desktop and server OS installs
- End user support, ticketing and problem resolution
- Close adherence to technical procedure documentations and ability to provide process updates in a controlled environment.
Skills:
- MS SQL install and clustered servers
- Experience with Storage Area Networks (EMC)
- Cisco switch port setups for endpoints
- Datacenter hardware installations
- Desktop hardware and software inventory automation tools
- Operating in a security audited environment with controls like SOC or NIST/FISMA
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to deal effectively in a fast-moving team environment
- Ability to multi-task and manage several projects concurrently, while providing strong attention to detail and operating with a sense of urgency, focus and discipline
- 3-4 years of experience in desktop/server builds and end user support.
The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to sit, stand, walk and communicate with other employees. Lift servers into racks and install computers and peripherals cific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust and focus.
WORKENVIRONMENT:
This position will perform all work in a hybrid environment, with an expected 3-4 days in-office and 1-2 days working from home, per week.
