What You Will Be Doing:As a Remote Sensing Data Scientist, you will join a dynamic team to apply deep expertise in remote sensing principles, geospatial analytics, and image processing. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary group of scientists, IT professionals, and engineering teams to deliver innovative analytics that drive data-informed decision‑making. Your work will involve extracting insights from complex datasets, such as multispectral and SAR imagery, to build and operationalize predictive analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Apply advanced techniques in image analysis, geospatial analytics, and deep learning to extract insights from multispectral, hyperspectral, and SAR datasets.
- Build, validate, and operationalize predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Design and implement large‑scale pipelines for imagery ingestion, preprocessing, feature extraction, and model deployment.
- Maintain high standards for data science best practices, including peer review, code review, reproducibility, and version control.
- Write comprehensive documentation covering problem framing, data requirements, modeling approaches, and validation.
- Partner with agronomic scientists, biologists, and product teams to co‑develop solutions aligned with business needs.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and model performance results clearly to various stakeholders.
Skills & Experience:
- Ph.D. or M.S. (with 4+ years of experience) in Remote Sensing, Geospatial Science, Data Science, Agronomy, or a related field.
- Hands‑on experience with remote sensing datasets and image processing techniques like atmospheric correction, orthorectification, and segmentation.
- Proficiency in geospatial tools such as GDAL, Rasterio, and Geo Pandas.
- Deep knowledge of ML/DL methods applied to imagery, including CNNs, semantic segmentation, object detection, and time‑series modeling.
- Strong programming skills in Python and libraries like Tensor Flow, PyTorch, OpenCV, and scikit‑learn.
- Experience with SQL for managing and querying structured datasets.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for scalable data processing.
- Strong coding discipline, including version control (Git Hub) and reproducible workflows.
Skills & Experience:
- Foundational understanding of agricultural systems, crop development, and agronomic principles.
- Experience collaborating with agronomists or applying remote sensing to real‑world agricultural challenges.
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted coding tools for rapid prototyping.
- Strong ability to contextualize remote sensing insights within agronomic workflows like crop health diagnostics and field variability.
$55.30 - $79.000 /hr.
