Job Description
As a Senior Product Designer at Vention…
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our product design team and work on core parts of the Vention platform.
We’re looking for someone who can deeply understand user workflows, clarify complexity, and keep things simple. You’ll join a fast-paced team where we ship improvements that meaningfully impact our customers’ work. Collaboration, humility, and a strong focus on user needs are central to how we operate.
Our team is small and design is still maturing at Vention, so we’re looking for someone with experience, perspective, and opinions who can help us improve how design operates across the organization.
What You’ll Do:
You will design experiences that sit at the intersection of software and physical machines. The work requires strong UX judgment, structured thinking, clear communication, and comfort operating in technical problem spaces.
You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to define problems, conduct research, and craft impactful solutions.
- Lead UX and product design for complex, platform-level workflows used to configure and control automation systems.
- Translate technical concepts and constraints into clear, intuitive user experiences.
- Partner with product and engineering to frame problems, define success criteria, and validate solutions.
- Plan and conduct user research (interviews, usability testing, workflow validation) to ground decisions in real user needs.
- Deliver user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and high-quality UI in Figma.
- Contribute to the creation, evolution, and maintenance of Vention’s design system, ensuring it supports scalability, consistency, and speed across teams.
- Help define and improve how design translates into production code, in close collaboration with engineering.
- Clearly communicate design rationale in reviews, connecting user needs, data, technical feasibility, and business impact.
What You Bring to the Table
We’re looking for skills, intellect, and experiences that will help you succeed in this role but we also know that various profiles (not only the one described below) could be successful. If you’re excited about what you read and think you’d be a great fit, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t meet every single qualification.
You’ll bring:
- 5+ years of product design experience, with significant experience designing complex software products (not just marketing or content-driven sites).
- Demonstrated strength in UX design, including problem framing, interaction design, and system-level thinking.
- Experience working on technical, logic-heavy, or professional tools ( configuration systems, editors, or internal platforms).
- Strong ability to structure and simplify complex workflows and mental models.
- Hands-on experience with user research and applying insights to product decisions.
- Experience creating and contributing to design systems. BONUS POINT if you also consider yourself a Design Engineer and can help us set up a design-to-prod workflow.
- Proficiency with Figma and modern prototyping tools.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, execution-driven environment with real production constraints.
