Title: Senior Technical Data Governance Analyst

Location: REMOTE (LATAM or North America)

Job Summary

The Senior Technical Data Governance Analyst is responsible for the technical design, implementation, and operationalization of enterprise data governance controls across the full data lifecycle. This role focuses on embedding governance requirements directly into platforms, data pipelines, storage environments, and access models to ensure data is properly classified, protected, monitored, retained, and disposed of in accordance with enterprise standards.

This individual will serve as the technical subject matter expert supporting the build-out of the data governance program in a fast-paced environment. The role requires deep hands-on experience with data discovery, classification tooling, metadata management, access governance, and data protection technologies, along with the ability to rapidly implement scalable solutions across a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate enterprise data governance requirements into scalable technical controls across the full data lifecycle (create/capture, classify, store/maintain, use/access, share/transfer, retain/archive, dispose/destroy).
  • Design, implement, and optimize automated data discovery, classification, tagging, and metadata capture capabilities across structured and unstructured data environments.
  • Embed encryption, data protection, monitoring, and secure configuration controls into databases, data lakes, cloud platforms, and file repositories.
  • Implement and support role-based and attribute-based access controls, periodic access reviews, and continuous monitoring of data usage and anomalous access patterns.
  • Engineer and enforce secure data transfer, DLP, and egress monitoring capabilities to ensure protected internal and external data sharing.
  • Configure and operationalize automated data retention, archival, legal hold, and secure destruction mechanisms aligned to enterprise retention schedules.
  • Support implementation and integration of enterprise data catalog, metadata management, and data lineage capabilities to improve visibility and inventory accuracy.
  • Develop technical telemetry, dashboards, and metrics to monitor data governance effectiveness and support audit and regulatory readiness.
  • Partner closely with Data Engineering, Cybersecurity, Cloud, Architecture, Privacy, Legal, and business stakeholders to operationalize governance controls.
  • Rapidly build, mature, and scale technical data governance capabilities in a fast-paced, transformation-focused environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in data governance, data security, or data engineering roles.
  • Strong hands‑on experience implementing data discovery and classification solutions.
  • Experience with data protection technologies (encryption, DLP, access governance).
  • Experience integrating governance controls across cloud and on‑prem environments.
  • Experience working with data catalog or metadata management platforms.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data lifecycle control points.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in fast‑paced, build‑focused environments.
  • Strong scripting or automation experience (Python, Power Shell, SQL preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and problem‑solving skills.
