IT Project Manager, Systems Analyst
Overview
Project Manager/Coordinator (Remote) – Focused HR Solutions. Raleigh, NC. This position is remote; however, the contractor will be required to work during the core business hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST on weekdays with a mandatory one hour lunch break from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM. This opening is for a contract with a 6+ month duration, with the possibility of extension.
Onsite work in Raleigh, NC may be required; EST business hours must be observed.
- Coordinate among multiple teams and individuals to ensure work items and deliverables are scheduled, completed, and delivered to clients on time with high quality and usable documentation.
- Coordinate development and delivery of training materials for changed business processes and IT applications.
- Maintain and monitor project plans and milestones; assess and document risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
- Provide coordination for other project team members as needed; document and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
- Organize, attend, and participate in stakeholder meetings and prepare presentation materials.
- Provide administrative support as needed and undertake project tasks as required.
- Document program and project deliverables; ensure adherence to frameworks and maintain documentation for each project; manage stakeholder views toward the best solution.
- Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute meeting minutes to all project team members.
- Manage complex strategic projects with multiple work streams; create project plans, timelines, and work breakdown structures; contribute to roadmap development.
- Manage large-scale compliance projects including the implementation of a GRC tool in Service Now and GRC policy implementation.
- Act independently with sound business judgment; manage and direct large upgrade projects, including staffing, scheduling, issue/risk resolution, and status communication.
- Work with internal and external clients, vendors, and senior management to accomplish project objectives; develop status reports, logs for decisions and issues, and lessons learned for future projects.
- Coordinate with the Project Sponsor(s) and Governance Committees to facilitate decisions necessary for project delivery.
- Drive project work to completion and escalate issues when needed.
- Project management/coordination skills – Required – 5 years
- Training material development and documentation – Required – 5 years
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint – Required – 5 years
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project – Required – 5 years
- Experience explaining business processes to IT users and IT applications to business users – Required – 5 years
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – Required – 5 years
- Proven experience managing multiple projects – Required – 5 years
- Proven experience writing clear and concise technical and user documentation – Required – 5 years
- Working knowledge of application development life cycle – Required – 5 years
The Project Manager will follow established processes, as well as processes defined and required by the Statewide Enterprise Project Management Office in their role as an oversight organization.

/ Competencies
- Solid understanding of project life cycle models and knowledge of Agile and traditional project management principles; ability to blend them to fit a project and business environment.
- Experience in managing large and/or complex projects through full life-cycle.
- Experience leading and managing local and remote teams.
- Proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and meeting customer requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of PMBOK knowledge areas, PMI standards, and PM tools/templates.
