Position: Studio IT / Systems Support Analyst
Studio IT & Systems Support Specialist     We are seeking an in-house IT & Systems Support Specialist to join the growing UHA team. Working closely with studio leadership and all departments, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our technology infrastructure across the office. This role will work in close coordination with UHA’s Tech Support team based in London, ensuring smooth communication, escalation, and alignment of IT standards across offices.

You will provide hands-on support for architects, interns, admin, and management, maintaining hardware, software, networks, and servers that power our design workflows. Your proactive, solutions-driven approach will help anticipate challenges before they arise, enabling our teams to focus on delivering exceptional architectural work.

Responsibilities   1. End-User IT Support
Provide day-to-day IT support to all team members (architects, interns, admin, and management).
Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues.
Support Windows/macOS systems, laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, plotters, and presentation equipment.
Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees (system access, email IDs, device setup)
Maintain a helpdesk log / ticket system
Manage IT equipment inventory
Support meeting room setups and AV

2. Software & Licensing Management
Install, configure, and maintain architecture-specific software, including (but not limited to):
AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft 365
Manage software licenses, renewals, and compliance.
Optimise system performance for heavy design files and rendering workflows.
Maintain a standardized software image/configuration for new devices
Document installation procedures for key tools

3. Server, Storage & Data Management
Assist in managing local servers/NAS systems used for project data storage.
Monitor storage capacity, performance, and backups.
Implement and maintain data backup strategies (local + cloud if applicable).
Ensure data security, controlled access, and protection against data loss or corruption.

4. Network & Internet Infrastructure
Maintain office LAN, Wi-Fi networks, routers, switches, and firewalls.
Ensure stable, high-speed internet connectivity for design and coordination work.
Coordinate with ISPs and vendors for troubleshooting and upgrades.

5. IT Security & Best Practices
Implement basic IT security protocols (antivirus, firewall, access controls).
Ensure secure handling of client data and project files.
Educate staff on IT best practices, data safety, and cyber hygiene.
Manage MFA enforcement
Maintain user access levels by role/team

6. IT Planning & Office Growth Support
Plan IT infrastructure upgrades as the office grows (users, storage, systems).
Recommend hardware, software, and workflow improvements.
Assist management in budgeting for IT expansion and future requirements.
Coordinate with external IT vendors, consultants, and service providers when required.
Produce quarterly IT status updates

7. Coordination with London-Based Tech Support Team
Work in close coordination with UHA’s Tech Support team based in London to ensure continuity of support across offices.
Escalate complex infrastructure, network, and security issues when required, while maintaining ownership of issue resolution locally.
Align processes, documentation standards, and software/hardware policies with the London team.
Coordinate remote troubleshooting sessions, planned maintenance, and rollouts with London-based colleagues.
Maintain clear communication on recurring issues, system improvements, and office-specific needs.

Skills and Qualifications    Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
3–8 years of experience in IT support or system administration.
Windows & macOS environments
basic scripting (Power Shell or Bash is a plus)

Experience with backups (Veeam, Synology, etc)

Experience with MDM (Intune, Jamf)
Networking fundamentals
Servers, backups, and data management
Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace
Experience supporting architecture, design, or creative studios is a strong advantage.
Ability to handle multiple issues calmly in a fast-paced studio environment.
Proactive and solution-oriented mindset
Clear communication with non-technical users
Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
Ability to anticipate future IT needs rather than only react to problems
Hours   40 hours a week over 5 days
Monday to Friday (some flexibility to overlap with London working hours may be required)
Flexible and remote work negotiable
