Position: Sr. Technical Project Lead (Data Center)
Location: New York

Our client is seeking a Tech Project Lead in New York, NY. We have a direct relationship with the manager and can secure qualified candidates for an interview. This is a Contract to Hire (Remote) position. Please respond with your resume if you are interested in the opportunity.

Note:
Travel up to 80% required based on project and client requirements, with the possibility of international travel (an active passport required). Must be based in the United States and available in the evenings and at weekends.

About

The Role

As a Technical Project Lead, you’ll take the lead on some of our most technical and impactful client projects. You’ll work closely with clients to define project objectives, develop implementation processes, and manage each phase through completion. This is a hands‑on leadership role that combines technical depth with project management expertise.

You’ll design and document installation and testing procedures, develop detailed Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and guide both internal and subcontracted teams to deliver outstanding results.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in data center routing and switching, LAN/WAN communications, and structured cabling. You’ll leverage your technical knowledge to drive excellence, support your peers, and ensure every project meets high standards for quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Other responsibilities include:
  • Develop and design installation and testing procedures and processes to meet Client technical project requirements
  • Provide project documentation and Methods of Procedure (MOP) for onsite and remote technical teams to follow and manage against
  • Develop deep technical subject matter expertise with specific Clients to ensure superior technical project management and strengthen the trust and loyalty
  • Communicate with clients to maintain existing relationships and meet project goals and needs
  • Mentor, teach and manage internal resources and teams to successful project outcomes
  • Develop a remote work culture to maximize data center upgrade project timelines, requirements, and service windows
  • Work alongside members of the Project Management team and other service team members to engage, manage and communicate with Subcontractors
  • Escalate risks appropriately and support remediation efforts
  • Complete ongoing security awareness training and comply with company policies to the requirements section
  • Identify and escalation security risks to the appropriate Executive Leadership Team member and actively contribute to remediation efforts
Desired skills and experience:
  • 10+ years data center services background and technical project leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of services engagement and 3rd party subcontractor process, pricing, and communications
  • Ability to learn new technologies and solutions and communicate them to Clients, Subcontractors and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and remotely in a fast‑paced work environment
  • Ability to multi‑task across numerous jobs, locations, and responsibilities
  • Excellent management and project communications skills
  • Knowledge of project accounting and administration
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP and other certifications a plus
  • Weekend, evening, and holiday work required
