Job SummaryThe Software Developer – Journeyman Level (IT Operations Integration) supports enterprise IT operations for the Army National Guard (ARNG) by developing integrations, automation capabilities, and internal tools that enhance system efficiency, data accuracy, and workflow automation. This role builds API integrations among enterprise systems, develops scripts for operational automation, and creates internal applications supporting dashboards, reporting, and self‑service portals. The developer operates with considerable independence, contributing to solution design, methodology development, and system improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop custom integrations, automation scripts, and internal tools to support enterprise IT operations.
- Build REST API integrations between Service Now, Solar Winds, and SCCM for automated ticketing, CI synchronization, and operational workflows.
- Develop Power Shell and Python scripts for bulk operations, configuration auditing, data processing, and reporting.
- Create internal web applications using .NET and React for dashboards, monitoring, and self‑service portals.
- Maintain and manage Git repositories, conduct code reviews, and produce technical documentation.
- Support deployment, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of developed solutions.
- Exercise independent judgment in developing technical approaches, methodologies, and problem‑solving strategies.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of enterprise IT experience with a focus on software development or automation.
- Proficiency in Power Shell, Python, and automation scripting.
- Experience building REST API integrations with enterprise IT systems (e.g., Service Now, SCCM, Solar Winds).
- Strong development skills using .NET (C#) and React for internal application development.
- Experience with Git for source control, branching, code reviews, and versioning.
- Ability to write clear technical documentation and support deployed tools.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with the ability to work independently.
- Training in secure coding practices (e.g., OWASP, DoD secure coding).
- Experience with cloud development in AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Dev Ops tools, or infrastructure automation.
- Experience with enterprise ITSM, monitoring, or configuration tools (Service Now, Solar Winds, SCCM).
