Technical Architect (Data/Cloud) - Contract - Remote Working - £competitive, Inside

Synergize Consulting are now hiring for a Technical Architect to work at a leading consultancy client on a contract basis.

The successful candidate will be working within a high-profile public sector brownfield transformation, and will be required to design modern data platforms, data flows and cloud integration processes.

• Reshape the existing client architecture to support new upstream microservices and evolving schema definitions.
• Design strategies for merging historical data with newly structured models while maintaining seamless user journeys.
• Define and evolve ingestion, transformation, and storage patterns aligned to microservice-based upstream systems.
• Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and controlled movement of sensitive data across cloud boundaries.
• Assess existing technology choices (e.g., Kotlin) and recommend migration paths aligned to the client's approved standards.
• Act as a senior architectural authority across the client and their related services.

• Our client requires proven experience as a Senior Technical Architect, ideally gained within complex brownfield environments.
• Significant data platform expertise that includes ingestion patterns, schema evolution, ETL/ELT, and microservices data integration.
• Previous experience of working within the public sector would be advantageous but not essential.
• Multi-cloud integration expertise (Azure & AWS), including secure cross-cloud data transfer.
• Demonstrable experience of modernising platforms while maintaining critical live services.
• Hands‑on experience migrating or re-architecting technology stacks to standardised platforms.
• Event‑driven architectures and microservice-based data contracts.
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to act as a design authority across multiple services / work streams.
• Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
