Data Analyst, Data Science Manager
Responsibilities
- Analyse current processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collect, clean, and interpret data from multiple systems, including Student Records, CRM, and Finance.
- Design and develop dashboards and reports using Power BI to support operational and strategic decisions.
- Support future-state process design for major work streams, including Student Journeys, CRM and ERP readiness, and Centralised Services.
- Perform data quality checks and promote best practices in data governance and compliance.
- Translate complex data into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of data-informed decision-making across the organisation.
You’ll be based in the Digital, Data & Technology Directorate on our green campus in the north of Plymouth.

- Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualisation within complex organisations.
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design dashboards for diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of data protection, GDPR, and ethical handling of data.
- Experience with Salesforce Education Cloud or similar CRM platforms.
- Experience in transformation or digital change programmes.
- Skills in advanced analytics techniques (predictive modelling, statistical analysis).
- Knowledge of scripting or automation tools such as Python or R.
- Experience in higher education or regulated environments.
- Collaborating with others: working across teams to deliver joined-up digital workflows
- Problem Solving & Solution Engineering: working with stakeholders to overcome challenges and digitise processes
- Communicating with impact: translating complex information into clear, compelling narratives
- Thinking strategically and creatively: using insight, evidence and innovation to strengthen engagement

1 FTE / 35 Hours per week - 1 Year Fixed Term Contract Grade 6, starting at £31,236. This is a hybrid role; however, regular on-campus presence is essential to support collaboration and service delivery.
