JOB TITLE: User Experience Designer III
Location: Remote US-based or Seattle office
DURATION: 6 months
PAY RATE: $47 - $57 HOURLY
Job Description: Job Overview
We are seeking a talented UX Designer with design systems expertise to support product experiences. This role combines design system work including component design, pattern documentation, and Human Interface Guidelines with hands-on product design for enterprise workflows, B2B tools, and partner-facing experiences.
Contract Duration: 6 months with potential extension
Start Date: As soon as possible
What You Will Do- Design Systems Work (50 to 60 percent of time)
- Design Fire TV/Tablet UI components and patterns such as buttons, cards, navigation, and content browsing
- Create comprehensive use case documentation including when to use, dos and donts, and anatomy diagrams
- Document 10-foot UI patterns including focus states, remote navigation, and voice interactions
- Run weekly governance office hours for design teams
- Conduct design system audits and provide guidance on component usage
- Product Design Work (40 to 50 percent of time)
- Design workflows for internal tools and enterprise experiences
- Create user flows for complex service design challenges
- Design marketing and promotional experiences for Fire TV/Tablet
- Build developer tools and partner-facing dashboards
- Design Systems Expertise 3 to 5 years
- Strong experience designing and documenting component libraries
- Deep understanding of design systems including tokens, components, patterns, and documentation
- Experience writing use case documentation and design guidelines
- Portfolio showing component design work and pattern documentation
- UX/UI Design Skills
- Excellent visual design and interaction design skills
- Experience with complex workflow design including multi-step processes and enterprise tools
- Strong written communication for documentation, guidelines, and specifications
- Proficiency in Figma including component design, prototyping, and design systems
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work independently with minimal oversight as remote contractor
- Strong stakeholder management with designers, PMs, engineers, and 3P partners
- Diplomatic consulting skills to provide guidance without stepping on toes
- Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced environment
- Technical Skills
- Basic HTML/CSS understanding helpful for specs but not required
- Familiarity with design tokens such as JSON and CSS variables
- Experience with UXPin Merge, Zeroheight, or Storybook
- Knowledge of WCAG AA accessibility standards
- Device-Specific Experience
- Tablet or touch interface design including iPad or Android tablets
- Remote navigation and D-pad interaction patterns
- Industry Experience
- 3P partner enablement or developer documentation
- B2B SaaS or enterprise tool design
