Monday – Friday. First Shift, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Location:
450 Columbus Boulevard in Hartford. Hybrid (combination of on-site and remote work).
The Salesforce Administrator is part of the DGOE Release Management Support Team and provides day‑to‑day administrative support for Salesforce‑based applications used across multiple state agencies. Working under the guidance of senior administrators and developers, this role focuses on maintaining platform stability, assisting with deployments, and supporting users while following established security and governance standards. The Salesforce Administrator supports platform configuration, user access, data integrity, and release activities for systems that enable case management, service intake, eligibility determination, and appointment scheduling.
This position is ideal for someone beginning or early in their Salesforce administration career who wants hands‑on experience supporting enterprise, mission‑critical systems in a structured government environment.
- Provide administrative support for Salesforce environments, including DEV, TEST, and PROD.
- Manage users, profiles, roles, permission sets, and access requests.
- Configure standard Salesforce features such as objects, fields, page layouts, validation rules, and flows.
- Support release management activities, including sandbox refreshes, change sets, and deployment coordination.
- Assist with system testing, regression testing, and post‑deployment verification.
- Monitor system health and help troubleshoot basic Salesforce issues.
- Support data management activities, including imports, updates, and data quality checks.
- Create and maintain reports and dashboards to support business needs.
- Document configurations, procedures, and support processes.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, architects, and security teams to support ongoing operations.
Five (5) years of experience in information technology (IT) operations support, programming, or another IT‑related support area.
Minimum Qualifications – Special ExperienceTwo (2) years of the general experience must have been performing basic technical support work in such areas as help‑desk functions, installing and maintaining basic computer hardware and software, data communications, microcomputer support, production control or programming, and performing any closely related basic technical support function.
NOTE:
For state employees basic technical support work is interpreted at the level of an Information Technology Technician.
College training in management information systems, computer science, or information technology related area may be substituted for the general experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one‑half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a bachelor's degree. A master’s degree in management information systems, computer science, or electrical engineering may be substituted for the general and special experience.
For state employees two (2) years as an Information Technology Technician may be substituted for the general and special experience. Successful completion of an Information Technology Analyst Trainee program approved by the Department of Administrative Services may be substituted for the general and special experience.

- Experience maintaining Salesforce reports.
