Role Overview

Infrastructure Product Manager will lead the strategic development and delivery of infrastructure products and services that enable secure, scalable, and resilient digital operations within the Home Office.

This role is responsible for defining product vision, managing the full product lifecycle, and ensuring infrastructure capabilities align with organisational priorities, user needs, and government digital standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and own the product vision, roadmap, and strategy for infrastructure-related products and platforms
  • Collaborate with engineering, security, architecture, and operations teams to deliver reliable and scalable infrastructure solutions
  • Gather and prioritise user and stakeholder requirements to inform product decisions
  • Manage the full product lifecycle from discovery and design through delivery and continuous improvement
  • Ensure infrastructure products meet security, compliance, and governance standards applicable to public sector environments
  • Monitor performance metrics, service reliability, and user satisfaction to drive ongoing enhancements
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and constraints, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Engage internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organisational objectives
  • Support procurement, budgeting, and resource planning for infrastructure initiatives
  • Champion agile, user-centred, and outcome-focused delivery practices
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager within infrastructure, platform, or cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud services, networking, and platform technologies
  • Experience operating in complex, regulated, or public sector organisations (desirable)
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear product requirements and measurable business value
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience working within Agile, Scrum, or iterative delivery methodologies
  • Data-driven approach to decision-making, using product metrics and KPIs
Desirable Skills
  • Experience working with government digital services and GDS standards
  • Knowledge of Dev Ops, SRE, or platform engineering practices
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, NCSC, GDPR)
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers or service providers
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Relevant certifications in Product Management, Agile, or Cloud technologies are advantageous
