RGP is seeking a highly skilled Statistical Reporting Developer to support a Property & Casualty insurance client during Phase 2 of a major statistical reporting and data consolidation initiative. This role is a hands on, production focused backfill responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing the client’s statistical reporting infrastructure while supporting day to day BAU (Business as Usual) reporting needs.
The ideal candidate is a strong SQL developer with deep insurance data experience who can navigate complex, undocumented legacy systems, reverse engineer logic, and ensure the accuracy and regulatory compliance of statistical submissions.
What You Will Work On- Prepare, validate, and submit complex statistical and regulatory reports (ISO, NAIC, NCCI, MCAS, and state‑specific filings), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness.
- Reconcile reporting outputs to financial and operational systems (including the general ledger) to maintain data integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Support regulatory audits by providing detailed documentation, data lineage, and clear explanations of reporting logic and methodologies.
- Read, debug, optimize, and rewrite complex SQL queries and stored procedures supporting reporting workflows; troubleshoot broken jobs, production issues, and data discrepancies.
- Reverse engineer legacy reporting logic where documentation is incomplete and strengthen process transparency.
- Trace reporting fields to source tables within PCDM and similar data models; maintain mapping tables, lookup logic, views, reporting cubes, and data call structures.
- Consolidate multi-source data into unified reporting structures and troubleshoot ETL/ELT pipelines in Oracle, Snowflake, and legacy SQL environments.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Accounting, Finance, Actuarial, Compliance, and Data Engineering teams to resolve reconciliations, inquiries, and process gaps.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, automation, transparency, and repeatability across reporting workflows.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related field.
- Expert‑level SQL skills, including debugging, performance optimization, complex joins, and logic reconstruction across large datasets.
- Hands‑on experience with Snowflake and relational databases; strong working knowledge of Oracle (Oracle SQL), MySQL, and Toad required.
- Proven ability to interpret, maintain and enhance reporting logic including stored procedures, views, packages, cubes, mapping tables, and data call programs.
- Experience troubleshooting ETL/ELT pipelines and data orchestration workflows within production environments.
- Strong Property & Casualty insurance data expertise, including policy, claims, rating, underwriting, premiums, and losses.
- Direct experience supporting ISO statistical reporting and other regulatory/statistical requirements (NISS, NCCI, NAIC, MCAS).
- Familiarity with PCDM or equivalent carrier data models and the ability to navigate complex schemas and trace source‑to‑report lineage.
- Ability to work independently in fast‑paced, ambiguous, and high‑pressure environments with minimal oversight.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical reporting logic to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized with disciplined documentation practices and a strong audit mindset.
- Python experience is preferred.
- An inspirational place for you to do your best work, be engaged in meaningful ways, and continually develop the skills, competencies and qualities that set our team apart.
- Compensation commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market and operational factors.
- Total Rewards include:
Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Professional Development Program, Paid Time Off and Paid Sick Time (in geographies where legally required).
