Role
Software Asset Management Analyst
Primary Responsibilities- Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively and foster the use of analytics for data-driven insights
- Proven ability to quickly build relationships and earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders
- Proactively collaborate with SAP product teams to understand license needs, develop forecast, and identify and address compliance issues
- Educate EIT solution and product owners on proper asset management compliance practices and enforce roles / responsibilities
- Manage SAP software license lifecycle (purchase, deploy, harvest)
- Designs, analyzes, and provides operational metrics to highlight opportunities to increase efficiency, optimize cost and reduce risk.
- Partners with external suppliers, business clients and internal IT solution owners.
- Specialize in SAP asset management best practices, and act as SAP license administrator.
- Maintains and governs all the activities within our SAP license agreements
- Maintains SAP license inventory properly by measuring license utilization
- Assist with any SAP licenses purchases, terminations and / or exchanges
- Assist business with any SAP license estimation costs
- Lead SAP license Audit activities
- Assist in negotiation of SAP discounts and other EULA term components
- Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects
- May contribute to the development of policies and procedures
- Works on complex projects of large scope
- Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives
- Completes work independently receives general guidance on new projects.
- Work reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives
- Drive software harvesting and optimization
- Partner with EIT product teams to identify non-usage of software installations within the infrastructure and perform software removals as needed
- Design, analyze, and provide operational metrics to highlight opportunities to increase software license cost efficiencies, optimize software license savings, and reduce software license compliance risks
- Harvest SAP software and complete product bundling to remediate compliance gaps
- Facilitate internal and external audits
- Implement process to initiate, maintain and decommission SAP software licensing
- Manage Service Now queue for SAP license requests and issues
- Import software license purchases and assign licenses to SAP in Service Now
- Purchase necessary software using Buy Now
- Identify and submit SCCM software package requests for new software titles / versions
- Administer vendor license keys and subscription web portals
- Manage ITAM’s shared email mailbox
- Manage ITAM’s digital software media library
- Work closely with R&M to ensure maintenance contracts are renewed accurately and timely

- Bachelor's in related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years’ experience in SAP asset management
- Service Now (reports, asset module)
- Proficient in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.)
- Ability to analyze raw data in order to make conclusions and reveal trends and metrics
- Excellent oral and written communications
- Experience working with contracts as it relates to terms and conditions
BS in computer or related field.
