Title: System Configuration Specialist – HC
Primary Role: Professional services role with emphasis on creating and maintaining patient care systems configurations at healthcare facilities. Primary responsibilities for core configuration of system network devices and corresponding locations. Self‑managed schedule to provide direct support to assigned project tasks in collaboration with project stakeholders.
Responsibilities on Assigned Projects:
- Configure and maintain configurations for patient care systems (Enterprise, R5, R5K, etc.) in coordination with project stakeholders.
- Reviews and adheres to SWC standards for deployment of patient care server systems configurations. As needed, collaborates with management to update SWC standards to align with industry‑ and manufacturer‑recommended best practices.
- Works with assigned project resources to achieve project goals while meeting deadlines for successful system implementation.
- Maintains the related project documentation (daily time tracking, project plans, and task lists) across all assigned system projects and coordinates status updates with the project team on assigned projects.
- Maintain system documentation on deployments of SWC provided networked systems (IP Spreadsheet, Bed Counts, QC2 room allocation, QC2 site creation, etc.).
Other Responsibilities:
- Abides by and enforces security policies consistent with SWC and customer standards.
- Comply with all SWC and customer policies, including health and safety matters.
- Potential for after hours on call rotation for system support.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
Accountability: The Configuration Specialist will be accountable to the Technical Services Manager – HC for task completion on assigned projects and for adherence to processes and implementation standards. Secondary accountability will be to the other executive and management team members, as well as the customers of the company.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in systems design or deployment. Emphasis on certifications and knowledge of specific systems:
Responder 5, and R5K. IT certifications and degrees from an accredited college or university with coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields are considered a plus.

- Must be able to demonstrate planning, organizing, controlling, and implementing skills, which allow the proper prioritization and successful completion of tasks with limited guidance.
- Ability to work within a team environment to implement the technical solution required to accomplish the statement of work within the designated project schedule.
- Committed to following set standards while providing constructive feedback for improvement.
- Strong motivation to learn through on‑the‑job training and self‑study, supported by scheduled classes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations and manage multiple tasks successfully.
- Excellent customer service skills in dealing with both external and internal customers.
- General understanding of network topologies and network protocols.
- Valid and current driver’s license.
Travel and
Work Location:
Some overnight travel will be required. Flexible work location, including branch office, job sites, and work from home when appropriate. The primary work location will be the assigned branch office.
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements:
- Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit, and use hands and fingers.
- Some light lifting of objects is required.
- Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities are also required.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
