-Focus). Next ventures are currently executing a search for an experienced SAP HR / HCM SME with previous work experience on long-term public sector /SAP defence programme.

Contract Details- Duration: Initial 12-month contract with extensions (programme duration up to 3 years)
- Work Model: On-site / hybrid (dependent on security requirements)
- Remote Working: Possible, subject to programme security constraints

- EU or UK passport holders

We are seeking an experienced SAP Defence & Security (D&S) Security Professional with specialised expertise in securing SAP HR / HCM processes within SAP S/4
HANA Defence & Security environments.
This contract role supports high-stakes, mission-critical defence programmes across EU-based initiatives, ensuring robust protection of sensitive personnel data, compliance with stringent national and international security standards, and secure handling of HR-related processes in classified or operational contexts (e.g., force readiness, personnel deployment, vetting integration, and disconnected operations).
You will combine deep SAP authorization expertise — enhanced by RADS (Roles and Authorizations for Defence & Security) — with advanced data security and privacy controls tailored to defence-grade requirements. Emphasis is on SAP HR modules (Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Time Management, Payroll, Talent Management) integrated with D&S force elements, structural authorizations, and context-based access for personnel in peacetime, exercise, operational, and wartime structures.
This position is suited for security-cleared (or clearable) professionals with proven experience in regulated defence ERP environments, where personnel data is classified, subject to vetting, and governed by frameworks such national security classifications, NATO standards, and defence-specific data protection rules.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain security and authorization concepts for SAP S/4
HANA Defence & Security
, leveraging RADS for force element-based access, organizational flexibility, and context-based structural authorizations tied to HR objects and force structures - Secure SAP HR / HCM in defence contexts — including personnel master data, force generation, readiness tracking, deployment records, vetting status, and classified HR information — ensuring least-privilege access and segregation of duties (SoD)
- Configure advanced data security & privacy features for sensitive HR/personnel data: dynamic/field-level masking, anonymization, pseudonymization, encryption, retention/deletion via SAP ILM, and compliance with defence classification levels
- Conduct Privacy & Security Impact Assessments (DPIAs / equivalent) for SAP D&S HR implementations, custom developments, integrations (e.g., with vetting, payroll, or external secure systems), and disconnected/offline scenarios
- Ensure full compliance with defence regulations, security classifications (e.g., Official-Sensitive / SECRET), GDPR in defence contexts, personnel vetting protocols, NATO interoperability standards, and programme-specific security requirements
- Collaborate closely with D&S functional consultants, HR/business leads, security officers, DPO/legal teams, and military stakeholders to translate defence & personnel security needs into SAP technical controls
