Job Title: Dev Ops Manager (hands-on)
Location: Remote (Utah preferred)
Job-Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $150K – $170K
We are seeking a hands-on Dev Ops Manager to lead and mature our Dev Ops capabilities within a predominantly on-premise Microsoft ecosystem. This role is responsible for driving automation, CI/CD pipeline optimization, infrastructure reliability, release management, and operational governance across development and infrastructure teams.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in Windows Server environments, Microsoft tooling, infrastructure automation, and release orchestration, along with proven leadership capability.
Duties & Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a Dev Ops team supporting development and infrastructure functions.
- Define and implement Dev Ops standards, automation practices, and release governance.
- Partner with Architecture, Engineering, Security, and Infrastructure teams to improve delivery velocity and operational stability.
- Manage and automate Windows Server environments, IIS, Active Directory integrations, and SQL Server deployments.
- Support virtualization platforms (VMware) and internal networking configurations.
- Drive improvements in uptime, performance, patching, and disaster recovery processes.
- Establish operational KPIs (deployment frequency, change failure rate, MTTR, etc.).
- 7+ years in Dev Ops, Infrastructure Engineering, or related roles
- Leadership and/or team management experience
- Strong experience in Windows Server, IIS, Active Directory, and SQL Server environments
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Azure Dev Ops Server or similar)
- Proficiency in Power Shell and automation scripting
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware)
- Strong understanding of release management and operational best practices
- Experience using Docker for containerization in on-prem settings
- Experience modernizing legacy/on-prem environments toward hybrid cloud
- Familiarity with Team City
- Exposure to monitoring and logging platforms (SCOM, Splunk, ELK)
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code in private data centers
