Staff Fullstack Engineer (Rust/React)

Location:

Remote (worldwide, any timezone). Europe and US East Coast timezones preferred.

We’re Payy - and we’re building the future of global consumer banking built on crypto rails. Think Revolut, Venmo or Cash App - but global, fast and self custodial. Our app is written in React Native, but all the core app logic is written in Rust and compiled into Typescript. We also built Payy Network, a decentralised ZK rollup for payments.

There are a lot of fun and challenging things to work on! Payy is part of Polybase Labs.

• We’re looking for a rare person! A full-stack engineer combining Rust and React.
• A hacker, you can build almost anything.
• Ability to lead the development of features from architecture design to development to release.
• Expert level Rust AND/OR Type Script and React/React Native → our tech test is very hard to pass.
• You work fast, but have strong attention to detail.
• You should understand key web3 primitives, such as wallets and cryptographic primitives (public key, asymmetric encryption, symmetric encryption).
• You love solving really hard problems and want to work on something meaningful and challenging.
• You work best with autonomy, you want to be left alone to get on with it (we have only one meeting a week).
• You want to be an active part of decision making and be given time to work on your ideas.
• You want to get in early with a start up to convert your hard work into maximum equity / upside.
• You are proactive and have read the Polybase white paper and downloaded our app.
• You build your own projects in your spare time or contribute to open source projects.

• Strong interest in cryptography and/or cryptocurrencies.
• Experience with
  • web animation libraries
  • building web3 wallets
  • byte level transformations
  • building complex user interfaces (table views, multi-level dropdowns, keyboard listeners)
• A strong design aesthetic to contribute to design review.
