Cloud Data Engineer

Overview

This role is for a Cloud Data Engineer on a 24‑month contract, offering $55‑$65 per hour, based in the United States.

• Build automated data pipelines using Microsoft Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Data Explorer (ADX) to support process improvement and operational metrics.
• Develop ETL processes ensuring optimal data flow, transformation, and storage across enterprise systems.
• Create Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights on compliance rates, efficiency, and key performance metrics.
• Optimize data retrieval and processing through performance tuning for downstream analytics and machine learning.
• Perform ad‑hoc analysis, gather requirements, make recommendations, and execute follow‑through activities.
• Build automation solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate to reduce manual processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Data Explorer (ADX).
• Proficiency in ETL processes and Kusto Query Language (KQL).
• Experience writing and executing SQL queries in relational databases.
• Ability to work independently, analyze complex issues, and recommend solutions.
• Nice to Have: Databricks experience (PySpark, SQL) for large‑scale data processing.
• Nice to Have: SQL Server administration experience.
• Nice to Have: Machine learning model deployment and feature engineering background.
