Data Scientist, AI Engineer, Machine Learning/ ML Engineer, Data Analyst
Job Number: R0234643
Data Scientist The OpportunityAre you passionate about turning raw data into actionable intelligence? Do you thrive at the intersection of machine learning (ML), advanced analytics, and operational integration? In a world of expanding Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) datasets, uncovering meaningful patterns and delivering insights is critical for empowering warfighters and decision-makers. As a data scientist, you can transform ISR data sources into real-time, mission-critical insights to shape the future fight.
We have an opportunity for you to bring your data science expertise to the forefront of tactical ISR operations. You'll work closely with your customer to explore data-rich ISR environments, develop AI/ML models, and deliver advanced analytics that address the U.S. Air Force's most pressing intelligence challenges. On our team, you'll focus on building scalable data pipelines, automating analytics workflows, and delivering intuitive visualization products for ISR stakeholders.
You'll collaborate with ISR analysts, software engineers, and cloud architects to prototype, develop, and operationalize advanced AI/ML solutions that integrate seamlessly into multi-domain ISR operations. With access to cutting-edge technology, authoritative datasets, and the support of a technical team, you'll solve intelligence challenges that ensure mission success.
Join us as we revolutionize ISR operations through data science.
What You'll Do:- Develop and train ML models to extract actionable insights from ISR data, including geospatial object detection, adversary behavior prediction, anomaly detection, and image classification tasks.
- Conduct data cleaning, normalization, and feature engineering to prepare complex ISR datasets for robust analysis.
- Combine multiple ISR data types such as imagery, signals, or time-series data, into cohesive datasets that maximize analytic output.
- Create intuitive visualizations that provide commanders, analysts, and warfighters with real-time, actionable intelligence.
- Work closely with cloud engineers and ISR analysts to operationalize data pipelines and deploy AI/ML models into mission-critical environments.
- Ensure analytics capabilities are functional and available within contested, degraded, and operationally limited environments.
- Stay informed on emerging trends and tools in AI/ML, data science, and ISR workflows to prototype and deploy innovative solutions.
- 5+ years of experience applying data science techniques to large-scale datasets, including structured, unstructured, geospatial, or imagery data
- Experience in programming languages such as Python or R, for data analysis, processing, and model development
- Experience developing ML or deep learning (DL) models using frameworks such as Tensor Flow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
- Experience with data engineering, including Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines and data preprocessing for large ISR datasets
- Experience working with cloud-native AI/ML tools, including AWS Sage Maker or Azure ML
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Plotly, for creating actionable intelligence products
- Knowledge of geospatial tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or Geo Pandas, for analyzing and visualizing ISR data
- TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience working with ISR datasets such as UAV, satellite, or ground-based sensors, or in a DoD or Intelligence Community environment
- Experience with geospatial modeling techniques and frameworks such as Geo Server or Google Earth Engine
- Experience integrating AI/ML solutions into operational cloud environments using containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience with Agile or Dev Ops workflows to support rapid data product development cycles
- Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) techniques and their integration in ISR workflows
- Knowledge of data fusion techniques to combine multiple ISR data sources for a cohesive intelligence picture
- Master's degree in Data Science, CS, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field preferred;
Doctorate degree in Data Science, CS, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field a plus - AI/ML-related Certifications such as AWS Machine Learning Specialty Certification
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
