About the roleWe are seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to oversee and manage our IT infrastructure and ensure the smooth operation of our software tools and systems. The ideal candidate will be hands‑on, proactive, and capable of managing both the strategic and operational aspects of our IT environment, partnering with other departments to enable them to achieve key business needs in an efficient, cost‑effective, and scalable manner.
This role will also involve managing one or more IT Operations Engineers.
The ideal candidate will be local to Chicago to provide on‑site support and administration of servers, networking, software, and peripherals as needed.
What you’ll do- Oversee the administration and maintenance of our internal IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services.
- Manage third‑party software used by the company (Entra, InTune, Azure, Office 365, Atlassian, Slack, Zoom, Salesforce, Zendesk, Rippling, etc.) to ensure availability, security, and cost effectiveness of enterprise resources for all personnel.
- Plan, monitor, and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost‑effective use of resources.
- Manage our IT helpdesk and provide support for employees and offices around the world, ensuring quick resolution of technical issues.
- Manage and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Manage and participate in an on‑call support escalation queue rotation, including setting and achieving SLA targets.
- Collaborate with the Information Security team to ensure compliance with security measures, company policies, internal and external audits, and industry standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR.
- Ensure the security and compliance of our IT systems and processes, implementing best practices and staying updated on relevant regulations.
- Monitor and triage SIEM alerts and perform or assign remediation work as appropriate.
- Document IT processes, systems and policies, generate IT performance reports and collaborate with stakeholders to identify, document, automate and maintain critical business processes.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, preferably within a SaaS software company.
- Proven ability to drive large IT projects through all lifecycle stages from conception through business requirements gathering, task definition, implementation, documentation and ongoing maintenance, keeping stakeholders sufficiently informed at each stage.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services.
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Entra, InTune (including MAM/MDM and Conditional Access), Office 365 and Azure‑centric IT administration and support in both office and remote work environments.
- Proven experience in managing IT budgets and resources, including hardware procurement and software contract renewals.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues remotely.

The pay range for this role is:
110, USD per year (InRule Chicago)
