We are seeking a Principal Infrastructure Architect to join NASCO’s Infrastructure Hosting and Operations team and play a key role in advancing our IT environment. In this pivotal role, you will work across mainframe, midrange, cloud, security, networking, storage, and automation to design and deliver a secure, resilient, and future‑ready foundation for the business.
As an Infrastructure Architect, you will partner with Product, Enterprise Architecture, functional IT teams, and business stakeholders to accelerate modernization, reduce reliance on legacy systems, and implement scalable hybrid cloud solutions. You will evaluate emerging technologies, guide migration strategies, and collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure that systems are optimized, integrated, and aligned with NASCO’s long‑term technology strategy.

Roles and Responsibilities- Leads infrastructure modernization initiatives, reducing reliance on legacy systems while advancing hybrid cloud, virtualization, automation, and IT Service Management maturity
- Designs and implements robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions that support modernization and long‑term business strategy
- Evaluates system requirements and existing infrastructure to ensure performance, security, and compliance meet organizational and client expectations
- Develops and maintains infrastructure architecture blueprints and migration strategies, guiding seamless transitions from legacy to modern platforms
- Leverages emerging technologies, including AI and advanced automation, accelerate transformation, drive efficiency, and enable business innovation
- Analyzes and proposes alternative solutions and improvements, introducing new capabilities that enhance performance, resiliency, and cost optimization
- Leads the design, review, and integration of new systems, documents proposed changes and ensures seamless deployment across core infrastructure
- Ensures compliance with enterprise security policies and regulatory requirements, embedding disaster recovery and business continuity into all designs
- Conducts infrastructure performance monitoring and optimization, assesses post‑implementation success and captures best practices for continuous improvement
- Advanced technical expertise across enterprise infrastructure domains, including mainframe (IBM Z/OS), midrange, Wintel, Unix, storage technologies, networking, and data center hosting
- Architecture definition and design skills through models, patterns and roadmaps and an understanding of Enterprise Architecture practices
- Strong knowledge of enterprise security principles and practices, with experience embedding security, compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity into infrastructure solutions
- Deep understanding of ITIL frameworks and ITSM practices, with the ability to design and mature operational processes
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V) for creating flexible, resilient, and efficient infrastructure environments
- Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to drive automation and consistency across deployments
- Broad data and infrastructure integration knowledge, enabling seamless connectivity between legacy platforms, modern cloud services, and emerging technologies
- Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with IT leaders, business stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams
- 10 years of progressive experience in enterprise infrastructure architecture, engineering, or related IT leadership roles
