SQL database design, administration, performance tuning, and data migration with proven experience supporting enterprise-scale applications in secure environments.
Postgre
SQL DBA (Logical) and Some Development Experience
Location:
Austin, TX (Remote)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Postgre
SQL databases across development, testing, and production environments. - Perform logical database design, schema optimization, and data modeling to support application performance and scalability.
- Oversee database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
- Support database upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
- Collaborate closely with application development teams to ensure efficient SQL design and database integration.
- Implement and maintain database backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
Skills & Experience:
- 6 years of experience as a Database Administrator with focus on Postgre
SQL. - Strong understanding of logical database design, normalization, and schema management.
- Experience in SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and database partitioning.
- Experience supporting State or Federal government projects or large consulting clients
- Familiarity with AWS RDS / Cloud Postgre
SQL environments is a plus. - Experience with Linux environments, shell scripting, and monitoring tools (e.g., pg Admin, Prometheus, Grafana).
