We’re looking for a Manager, Web Development to lead our dedicated team of web developers. In this role, you’ll play a vital role in building and maintaining our web platform. This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you’ll do at Figma- Lead the Web Development team by removing blockers and providing guidance while empowering the team to drive technical decisions across , , and
- Hire, manage, support, and develop a team of engineers
- Partner with cross-functional teams to set strategy, priorities, and mission for teams and projects
- Manage complex projects from start to finish—maintaining timelines, collaborator expectations, ticket triaging, and regularly presenting with teammates and leadership
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Growth, Brand, and SEO teams to ensure reliable, performant, accessible, and secure sites
- Act as a bridge between the marketing web team and our security and infrastructure groups — surfacing needs, sharing context, and facilitating cross-functional improvements through implementation and thorough documentation
- Create and maintain comprehensive testing strategies and make recommendations for the latest web technologies and improvements
- Mentor team members, support new hires during onboarding, and provide technical guidance to technical and non-technical collaborators
- 7+ years of full-stack development experience, with deep expertise in Type Script, React, Next.js, and Node.js, plus hands-on experience with Playwright, Jest, and other E2E testing frameworks
- Strong background in modern web architecture, including headless CMS platforms (Sanity, Contentful, Payload), caching strategies, CDN proxies, edge functions, and performance optimization across SSR and SSG environments
- 3+ years of people management experience leading in-house web development teams, providing technical direction, mentorship, and delivery oversight
- Deep knowledge of web best practices spanning security (DDoS, XSS, SQL injection), database management, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD strategy, deployment processes, legal/cookie compliance, performance, and WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards
- Proven ability to lead complex projects and align cross-functional stakeholders across design, product, legal, data, and marketing—facilitating productive discussions and driving teams toward shared outcomes
While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
- Experience using Figma
- Experience with multi-product brands
- Solid understanding of conversion rate optimization standard methodologies, using A/B testing to achieve results
- Experience working on SEO-driven projects, localization, & experimentation
