Project Consultant (Core Banking)
We are seeking a Technology Project consultant and lead with strong banking domain experience and a consulting mindset ideally with exposure to Big 4 or internal transformation teams. The role combines technology delivery, structured problem solving, and senior stakeholder advisory driving complex initiatives across digital, regulatory, and core banking environments.
Hybrid workingThe places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of company offices, client sites, and your home, noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your Role- Shape complex problems into clear delivery roadmaps using structured consulting style thinking
- Support technology-led transformation initiatives
- Produce executive-ready materials, status packs, decision papers, risk assessments
- Lead organisational change activities including impact analysis, readiness planning and transition management
- Ensure smooth adoption across impacted business units
- Lead end-to-end delivery across the SDLC ensuring alignment with architecture, security and risk teams
- Define scope, delivery approach, timelines and budgets; manage multi‑team dependencies
- Apply Agile, Waterfall or hybrid models; lead sprints, release planning, Kanban boards and governance ceremonies
- Maintain Gantt charts, RAID logs and delivery dashboards; ensure project governance through PMP, Prince2 practices
- Ensure documentation traceability and audit readiness across all work streams
- Manage senior stakeholders with clarity and structure; run steering committees and escalation forums
- Oversee vendors, offshore teams and system integrators; manage contracts, SLAs and dependencies
- Foster strong client and business relationships to ensure alignment and adoption
- Strong consulting style capabilities: structured problem‑solving, executive communication, analytical rigour
- Experience managing complex multi‑stream technology programmes
- Strong planning, risk management and delivery tracking skills
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Big 4 or consulting experience
- Background in digital transformation, cloud migration or core banking modernisation
- Certifications:
PMP, Prince2, SAFe Scrum Master, PMI-ACP
