We are seeking top tier talent to join a pioneering team of product, tech, and design leaders. As a Capital One Senior Manager, Technical Writing - Data Security, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of building this business and bringing tools to market.

This role focuses on strategic technical documentation that translates complex information into user-friendly content enabling onboarding and utilization of Databolt by customers, partners, and internal stakeholders. The candidate will create various forms of customer-facing documentation including user manuals, help files, system integration guides, API documentation, and FAQs, communicating complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Create and implement documentation strategy within a cross-functional organization that supports documentation usability and innovation
• Review documentation for consistency across processes using standards and style guides
• Transform complex, technical material into clear documentation for Engineers, Product Managers, Architects, and Senior Leadership
• Create technical documentation for APIs, SDKs and integrations
• Translate complex ideas into understandable concepts using architectural diagrams and descriptions
• Write in a formal technical writing style (e.g., active voice, consistent tenses)
• Conduct in-depth interviews with subject matter experts to understand architecture or products
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers and architects to develop, publish and maintain high-quality customer-focused documentation
• Use metrics to understand utility of content, identify areas for review, and drive planning & prioritization
• Develop content that drives searchability for SEO and LLM optimization
• Maintain and continuously update content management systems

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience
• At least 10 years of experience writing technical documentation for software solutions
• At least 3 years of experience with Markdown and Git

• 5+ years with documentation tools (e.g., Hugo, Git Book, Confluence)
• Experience writing technical documentation for data security software
• Ability to transform deeply technical content into clear, customer-focused material
• Collaborate with developers to translate content into understandable documentation
• Experience writing in an Agile software development process
• Strong understanding of data management technologies and processes
• 3+ years of experience with SDLC
• 3+ years of experience in software development
• 1+ year experience in a financial services industry
• 3+ years in an Agile environment

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Remote (Regardless of Location): $140,600 - $160,400 for Sr Manager, Process Management. Richmond, VA: $140,600 - $160,400 for Sr Manager, Process Management. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on hours.

Candidates hired in other locations will be subject to the pay range for that location. This role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
