Job Title: Word Press Developer (Design-Focused)

Location: Cape Town (Remote - Contract)

• Theme Customisation: Work extensively with child themes, custom post types, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), and popular page builders such as Elementor and Divi to create visually stunning, user-friendly websites.
• Design Tools: Use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to assist with design adjustments, asset creation, and optimising graphics for web performance. Comfortable using Figma for rapid wireframe mockups.
• Plugin Management: Troubleshoot compatibility issues and research new tools that elevate site performance and design capabilities.
• API Integration: Connect Word Press sites to external services and APIs to enrich user experience and site functionality.
• Site Performance & SEO: Optimise page load speeds and apply basic SEO principles to enhance website visibility and user experience.
• Security: Implement security best practices.
• Maintenance: Manage backups and handle website migrations confidently.
• Cloud Flare and DNS Management: Manage Cloud Flare and domain settings.
• SMTP Configuration: Handle basic email setup and configurations.

• Minimum 5 years of web development experience, with at least 4 years focused on Word Press development and design integration.
• Immediate availability preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail. Ability to self-review work before seeking approval.
• Self-motivated with excellent communication skills - able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical team members and clients.
• Passion for ethical and sustainable design and development practices.
• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new tools, trends, and best practices.
