About the OpportunityOne of our clients is looking for a skilled Remote Network Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance their network infrastructure across a distributed environment. This is a fully remote UK-based role suited to someone with strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive mindset, and experience working with enterprise or cloud-based networks.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring network reliability, performance, and security while collaborating closely with infrastructure, security, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable network infrastructure
- Monitor network performance and resolve incidents and outages
- Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks
- Manage network security policies and access controls
- Support cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP environments)
- Perform upgrades, patching, and capacity planning
- Document network configurations and processes
- Collaborate with IT teams to support infrastructure and user connectivity
- Participate in on‑call support or incident response (if required)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing & switching
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar technologies
- Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Experience working in a remote or distributed IT environment
- Strong problem‑solving and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities remotely
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, JNCIA
- Experience with cloud networking (Azure/AWS)
- Exposure to SD‑WAN, Zero Trust, or network automation
- Experience with Linux or Windows server environments
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
- Fully remote UK‑based role
