The Federal Civilian business unit supports customers across federal, commercial, and nonprofit sectors. Our clients include NASA, the General Services Administration, Office of Personnel Management, Library of Congress, Health & Human Services, and the FDIC. We help build capabilities, modernize legacy systems, and scale digital service infrastructure to support mission objectives.
Primary ResponsibilitiesSenior Dev Ops Engineer serves as an experienced individual contributor within a team, with potential to provide leadership, guidance and mentoring. With minimal oversight, you will support meeting scope, schedule and delivery requirements and contribute to the program s Dev Ops and software engineering strategy. You may serve as the primary lead when working with stakeholders and use influential skills to drive improvements in software engineering processes.
Primary expectations include:
- Strong influential skills to collaborate across teams to consolidate and simplify Dev Ops tools and services
- Mentor individuals within the team
- Lead small, less critical, or temporary team structures and projects
- Present design documents, system diagrams, and other materials to clients, stakeholders, partners, and engineers
- Self-directed cloud infrastructure and pipeline design, including cloud-specific product offerings and tradeoffs between cost, reliability, and efficiency
- Build libraries, modules, and packages for other infrastructure engineers to integrate with their projects
- Build cloud infrastructure that supports applications and improves the broader developer experience for engineers
- Develop CI/CD processes to deliver software of higher quality at greater speed
- Integrate tools to satisfy non-functional requirements such as quality thresholds, security vulnerabilities, and static analysis
- Build specific application test and deployment pipelines using automated tooling such as Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Circle
CI, Git Lab CI - Proactively work with government partners and app teams to ensure software meets security, SLA, and performance requirements
- Participate in technical depth interviews with new candidates
- Bachelor s degree and 5+ years of experience
- Expert-level knowledge in AWS Services, Terraform, Git Lab
- Experience with key Dev Ops concepts: installing software, virtualization, containerization, networking, etc.
