The opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for an Architectural Consultant to join our Corporate IT team based in our Canton, MA or Boston MA office or remote within the United States. The Architectural Consultant is a high-level individual contributor that requires technical expertise and proficiency of data architectural concepts and company technologies to effectively lead the full data systems life cycle. This role requires a strong architectural mindset to design high-performance data platforms, optimize data pipelines, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate should have deep experience with big data architectures, cloud platforms, and data security best practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Working on highly complex assignments in an agile environment with limited direction, the Consultant is responsible for the implementation and support of data systems to ensure on time delivery of business solutions that are within budget and meet the company’s strategic goals.

Some of the Architectural Consultant responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Works closely with business partners, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical data solutions. Solutions must be aligned with Business’s and IT’s overall strategies, while complying with the organization’s data architectural and business standards.
• Proposes and supports the implementation of data systems and technology plans, data architectures (Current state, Future state) and standards in order to meet the company’s strategic goals.
• Makes recommendations towards the design and development of data architecture, infrastructure, and business systems.
• Leads the data architecture part of data systems and technology projects, in collaboration with other team members
• Develops and maintains the data systems and technology models and standards for a project.
• Involved in the significant parts of the data systems life cycle and is responsible for designing, implementing and supporting data solutions that is delivered on time and within budget.
• Collaborates effectively with others in a variety of work settings. This involves helping to educate others on their area of work, understanding the issues/concerns of other areas, and working together to solve problems, which may cross numerous boundaries within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement end-to-end data architecture for Data Solution (CDC, Data Lake, Date Lakehouse, Data Mart) ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Design data models, pipelines, and frameworks to support Medallion Architecture.
• Develop high-availability and fault-tolerant data processing architectures that handle large-scale, real-time transactions.

Big Data & Cloud Strategy

• Architect and implement big data solutions using cloud data technologies including Apache Spark, Databricks, or Snowflake.
• Leverage cloud platforms (Azure preferred) for Data Acquisition and Data Integration - data storage, transformation, and analytics.
