Sr M365 Engineer – Teams Focus

Houston, TX (hybrid WFH – 3 days onsite downtown Houston; 2 days work from home)

Summary

We're looking for a Sr M365 Engineer to focus primarily on optimizing MS Teams in an enterprise environment, driving integrations with Teams across key applications outside of the M365 stack, and optimizing the user experience within M365. We're looking for someone who can drive solutions from end-to-end, work with business users and deliver technical M365/Teams solutions, and support + administer existing M365 environments.

We're also starting to use Copilot more, so you'll have an opportunity to drive value with Copilot/AI as well.

Skills we're seeking – hard requirements
  • 3+ years of experience with M365 Engineering
  • Must have strong Teams engineering experience specifically:
    Advanced administration and troubleshooting experience, including policy management, integrations, and issue resolution.
Nice to haves (in this order)
  • Other M365 Administration Experience besides Teams:
    SharePoint, One Drive, Exchange/Outlook/O365
  • Scripting experience with Powershell
  • Azure Security experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related IT field
  • Microsoft certifications
What you'll be doing (in more detail)
  • Lead Microsoft Teams Excellence: Serve as the subject matter expert for Teams, managing configuration, policies, and advanced features to deliver a seamless collaboration experience.
  • Enable Teams-Integrations for Matter-Centric Work spaces: Integrate, deploy and support Teams , with document management and knowledge systems for secure, efficient collaboration.
  • Provide Operational Support: Monitor Microsoft 365 collaboration services, perform maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and act as a Tier-2/3 escalation point, including participation in on-call rotation.
  • Develop Collaboration Solutions: Work with IT and business stakeholders to design custom Teams templates, channels, and integrations that improve productivity while meeting enterprise policies.
  • Ensure Governance & Compliance: Implement Microsoft Purview solutions for data protection, retention, and ethical walls, collaborating with Security and Risk teams to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Adopt and Integrate New Capabilities: Evaluate and implement emerging Microsoft 365 features, including AI-powered Copilot, to streamline workflows and enhance team efficiency.
  • Automate & Script Administration: Create Power Shell scripts and use Microsoft Graph API to automate onboarding, permissions management, workspace provisioning, and other M365 administrative tasks.
  • Document & Train: Produce clear SOPs, knowledge base articles, and user guides, and lead training sessions to drive adoption and proficiency across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Coordinate with Infrastructure, Applications, Security, and external vendors to ensure smooth integration and resolution of complex technical issues.
