About the Role

The Legal Counsel will serve as a trusted legal partner to the Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence business area, supporting commercial and operational activities across the Americas, with primary focus on North America. This role will provide hands‑on legal support for complex technology transactions and collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to enable business growth while managing risk.

What You’ll Do
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, with emphasis on technology transactions (hardware terms of sale, software licenses, SaaS and cloud services agreements, professional services agreements, channel partner and distribution agreements, supplier and IT agreements, confidentiality agreements, and purchase order terms).
  • Provide legal advice on contract, corporate, and regulatory matters impacting the business.
  • Support business teams with certifications, representations, and compliance requests from customers and third parties.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and divisional policies and acceptable risk standards.
  • Advise management on contractual rights, obligations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Identify and drive improvements to contracting processes, risk‑management practices, and overall contracting efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject‑matter experts on intellectual property, privacy, cybersecurity, compliance, and corporate matters.
  • Partner with senior members of Hexagon’s legal team on strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Stay current on developments in contract law and relevant regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial technology agreements, either in‑house or at a law firm.
  • Experience with hardware, software licensing, SaaS/cloud services, professional services, and IT supplier agreements.
  • Experience with U.S. government contracts is a plus.
  • Experience with channel partner and distribution agreements is a plus.

  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills for commercial technology and licensing agreements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment and meet time‑sensitive deadlines.
  • Sound business judgment and strong business acumen.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a global team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word.
  • Fluency or professional experience in Spanish, Portuguese, or Japanese is a plus.
Work Environment

This is a remote‑based role within the United States. The position primarily involves working from a home office environment using standard office equipment such as a computer, phone, and collaboration tools. Occasional travel may be required to support business needs, internal meetings, or customer engagements.
