We are looking for a AWS Solution Architect who is excellent at engaging in technical discussions and can lead by example, spreading their knowledge and working as a part of our team of architects to design, build and deliver solutions on AWS.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with clients to understand their business requirements and design customised solutions using AWS services and technologies.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure AWS solutions, utilising best practices and industry standards.
- Work with Dev Ops teams to implement automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code, using tools such as Cloud Formation and Terraform.
- Ensure solutions are optimised for performance, availability, and cost, and provide recommendations for cost optimisation and resource utilisation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, security, and project managers, to ensure successful implementation and delivery of solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, and participate in knowledge-sharing and training initiatives.
- Stay current with AWS technologies, best practices, and industry trends, and provide thought leadership and guidance to clients and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and operational procedures.
- Participate in pre‑sales activities, including scoping, estimation, and proposal development, as needed.
- At least 5 years of experience in designing and deploying AWS solutions, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Dynamo
DB, API Gateway, Cloud Front, Cloud Formation, Cloud Watch, and IAM. - At least 5 years technical experience with cloud technologies and/or on-premise infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of AWS architecture and services, including networking, security, storage, and compute.
- Experience with designing and implementing highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable solutions on AWS.
- Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, and network security.
- Experience with Dev Ops tools and processes, such as CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and configuration management.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or AWS Certified Developer Associate.
- Experience with containerisation technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with serverless technologies, such as AWS Lambda and API Gateway.
- Experience with data analytics and big data technologies, such as AWS Redshift, EMR, and Athena.
- Experience with automation and scripting tools, such as Python, Power Shell, and Bash.
- Experience working within an IT Professional Services or Managed Services provider.
- Experience working with cybersecurity vendors including the likes of Fortinet, Sentinel One, Palo Alto & Crowd Strike.
