Elastic Stack Observability Engineer - Remote

Join our team to support, develop, and enhance our enterprise Elastic & Observability Platform running across GCP, GKE, and Elastic Cloud. You'll leverage Infrastructure as Code, automation tools, and Python to maintain platform health while creating self-service capabilities that empower users across the organization.

Location:

This role includes participation in an on-call rotation limited to platform health (weekdays 09:00-18:00, plus one 48-hour passive weekend shift every 4 weeks)

Responsibilities

Ensure high availability and performance of Elasticsearch clusters while maintaining alignment with business SLAs

Design and implement platform enhancements using Terraform, Ansible, HELM, and Jenkins CI pipelines

Develop Python-based extensions for platform functionality including Elastic Synthetics and chargeback automation

Provide incident response and resolution during scheduled on-call rotations for platform-related issues

Configure and optimize the ELK stack across all layers including ingestion, indexing, and query performance

Implement and maintain alerting workflows through Kibana Rules, Watchers, and Pager Duty integrations

Qualifications

Proven expertise implementing, operating, and maintaining Elastic clusters in production environments

Strong experience deploying and supporting Elastic clusters in Kubernetes environments

Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code principles and automation tools like Terraform and Ansible

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Python scripting for platform automation and extensions

Advanced troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently

Experience with observability tools including Elastic Beats, Logstash, and monitoring integrations

Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders

This posting includes a base salary range EPAM Canada would reasonably expect to pay the selected candidate. Individual compensation offers within the range are based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, training, the demand for the role, skillset, and overall business and local labour market considerations. Most candidates are hired at a salary within the range disclosed.

Salary range: CA $115,000-CA $125,000. In addition, the details highlighted in this job posting above are a general description of all other expected benefits and compensation for the position.
