This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home. Occasional visits to a GoDaddy office may be required for team events or meetings.

GoDaddy's Managed Hosting for Word Press platform supports website designers, developers, and entrepreneurs. We are seeking an experienced leader to drive our platform engineering efforts, focusing on evolving a next-generation architecture. This role involves leveraging modern technologies, scalable design principles, and AI-driven innovation to lead the evolution of a modern hosting platform powering millions of Word Press and application sites.

We are looking for a hands‑on leader with deep expertise in platform engineering—specifically concerning cost, performance, security, and scale—who can also drive the adoption of AI and agentic workflows to transform our stack.

• Lead a team responsible for building and extending a high‑scale, cost‑efficient, and secure hosting platform.
• Drive modernization initiatives using cloud‑native architecture, automation, and developer experience best practices.
• Integrate AI and agentic capabilities into both existing and new platform components.
• Collaborate across product, security, and operations teams to deliver new features and maintain robust compliance.
• Mentor engineers, fostering platform expertise and curiosity about emerging technologies.
• Support and explore infrastructure‑related initiatives beyond the Word Press platform.
• Leverage automation to simplify tasks and build highly performant components.

Your experience should include:

• Proven experience leading platform engineering teams for large‑scale, high‑availability hosting or cloud platforms.
• Deep expertise in managing cost, performance, security, and scalability.
• Strong background in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Open Stack), automation, and developer tooling.
• Experience integrating new technologies, including AI/ML, into existing platforms.
• Experience with AI/ML tools, agentic workflows, or intelligent automation.
• Familiarity with cost optimization (Fin Ops), performance monitoring, and platform security best practices.
• Experience supporting Word Press and other modern application stacks.

Candidates might also have knowledge of our tech stack, including:

• AI: MCPs, LLMs.
• Orchestration: Hashi Corp Nomad, Docker, Cilium.
• Networking: AWS NLB, Traefik, CoreDNS.
• Storage: EBS CSI, FSx, CephFS.
• Observability: Prometheus, Grafana.
• Databases: etcd, Redis.
• Application Technologies: nginx unit, PHP, Node.js.
• IaC & Config: AWS CDK, Terraform, Ansible.
• Security Tools: OIDC proxy, SELinux, Illumio.
