Job Summary

Collect, analyze, and interpret data to provide insights and recommendations that support business decision making and strategic planning.

Global BI Analyst

Based in New York City, International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) is a multibillion-dollar, Fortune 500 global leader in creating flavors, fragrances, and specialty ingredients used in a wide variety of consumer products and packaged goods for the Food & Beverage, Home & Personal Care, and Health & Wellness markets.

As part of the Global Business Intelligence (BI) group, this role will support the Taste business segment within one of the most dynamic teams in Intelligence & Digital Transformation. Under the guidance of a Global BI Manager, the position offers exposure to strategic projects that build core BI skills while directly influencing data-driven decision-making across the business.

The BI group serves as the "center of truth," delivering value-added insights and executive-level strategic reporting. This role will contribute by:

  • Providing ad-hoc support across diverse projects, including market analysis, business performance reviews, and strategic initiatives.
  • Leveraging and improving knowledge of data governance to manage datasets of varying types, sources, and quality.
  • Developing and applying technical skills to maintain and enhance existing tools/processes and develop new ones, with thorough documentation.

Exposure may include report and visualization creation, financial performance analysis, market insights development, data cleaning and quality assurance, methodology design, and strategy support. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and driven to expand analytical capabilities, including advanced analytics and predictive modeling.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will:

  • Support market and strategic analyses using online resources, internal, and external data sources (e.g., News articles, reports, Nielsen, Euromonitor, IRI) to identify trends and growth opportunities.
  • Implement and improve data methodologies using various data types and approaches (e.g., real, nominal, value, volume, contributions).
  • Work collaboratively and independently to enhance/maintain existing tools (such as dashboards in Power

    BI) and develop new solutions that drive business decisions.
  • Assist in preparing executive-ready presentations in PowerPoint for senior stakeholders.
  • Consolidate insights from multiple data sources to provide a 360 view of consumer and category trends.
  • Help maintain accuracy and integrity of internal and external data sources, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Contribute to team learning by sharing and increasing knowledge around best practices and continuously improving reporting tools and processes.
Required Skills
  • High motivation with a passion for strategic thinking, numbers, and detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to structure and solve ambiguous business requirements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge (e.g., formulas, VBA lookups, automation/macros).
  • Comfort working with large datasets.
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills with strong sense of design for storytelling.
  • Familiarity with visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
Preferred Skills
  • Programming language knowledge for data analytics (SQL, Python, or R).
  • Experience with syndicated sources (e.g., Nielsen, Euromonitor, IRI).
  • Knowledge of machine learning concepts or predictive analytics is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of the Food and Beverages industry, a plus.
Required Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, strategy or marketing analytics role.
  • 4-year Bachelor's and/or higher degree in Data Analytics, Business, Economics, Finance, or related field.

Position Type: Full-Time/Regular

Job Location: Based out of our South Brunswick, NJ location. This position offers flexibility with remote work arrangements, allowing candidates to work from various locations. However, occasional visits to the office may be required.
