About the Role:

As the Pillar Lead for DDXL (Data-Driven Experience Loyalty), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of customer loyalty at L'Oréal. You will lead a team of engineers in building and enhancing the technical infrastructure, APIs, and services that power personalized loyalty experiences for millions of customers worldwide. This role requires deep technical expertise, a passion for customer loyalty, and a proven ability to lead and inspire engineering teams.

You will be the technical authority for the DDXL platform, collaborating closely with product managers, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams to deliver innovative and scalable solutions that drive customer engagement and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

* Technical Leadership & Vision:
Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for the DDXL platform. Define the technical roadmap and ensure alignment with L'Oréal's global loyalty program strategy.

* Architecture & Design:
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust and scalable data pipelines and APIs for loyalty programs using technologies like Node.js, React.js, Dynamo

DB, Open Search, Redis Cache, Lambda Functions, Fargate-ECS, S3, SNS, SQS, and Kinesis.

* Loyalty Program Expertise:
Possess a deep understanding of end-to-end loyalty business processes, including customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and rewards management. Translate this expertise into technical solutions that enhance the customer experience and drive program performance.

* Data Strategy & Implementation:
Collaborate with product management and business stakeholders to define and execute a data strategy that maximizes the value of our loyalty programs. Oversee the implementation of data-driven features and personalized offers, leveraging data insights to optimize customer engagement.

* Rule Engine Optimization:
Oversee the implementation and optimization of the DDXL Rule Engine, ensuring efficient and effective management of loyalty rules and personalized offers.

* Data Processing & Analysis:
Leverage Pyspark, Dynamo

DB, and S3 to process and analyze large customer datasets, extracting insights to drive loyalty program strategy and performance.

* Innovation & Emerging Technologies:
Stay abreast of emerging technologies in the loyalty and data engineering space, identifying opportunities to enhance the DDXL platform and deliver greater value to our customers.

* Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and UX designers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver exceptional user experiences.

* Platform Performance & Reliability:
Ensure the performance, security, and reliability of the loyalty platform, proactively addressing technical challenges and implementing best practices.

* Agile Development & Project Management:
Drive the adoption of agile methodologies, ensuring efficient project delivery and continuous feedback integration. Manage project timelines, resources, and risks effectively.

* UX Guidance:
Provide UX expertise and guidance to ensure a seamless and engaging customer experience across all touchpoints.

Qualifications:

* Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field

* Experience:

10+ years of experience in IT, with a focus preferably on data engineering, backend systems. Proven experience leading technical teams and delivering technology projects

* Technical

Skills:

Understanding of Loyalty Rule Engine or similar rule-based systems. Event-driven architecture;
Integration patterns;
Data flows;
SaaS platforms and their offerings

* Loyalty Program Expertise:
Nice to have experience with driving and delivering end-to-end loyalty business processes

* UX Expertise:
Strong UX expertise and a passion for creating user-friendly applications

* Communication & Leadership:
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills

* Agile Development:

Experience with agile development methodologies

Bonus Points:

* Experience with personalization engines and recommendation systems.

* Experience in the beauty industry.
