Job Overview
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s network infrastructure. This role ensures high levels of network availability, security, and performance across all sites while partnering with IT, cybersecurity, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable connectivity and technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities Network Design & Architecture- Design, configure, and implement LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and cloud network solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and architectures to improve network performance and security.
- Develop and maintain network diagrams, documentation, and topology maps.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues, outages, and bottlenecks.
- Perform routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and patches on routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and related hardware.
- Manage IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, routing protocols, and load balancers.
- Configure, manage, and monitor firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security policies.
- Participate in security audits, risk assessments, and remediation activities.
- Ensure the network meets company security standards and industry best practices.
- Support integration between on-premise and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Assist with network aspects of server, virtualization, VoIP, and SaaS deployments.
- Manage VPN and remote access solutions for employees and partners.
- Coordinate with carriers, hardware vendors, and service providers to resolve issues and manage contracts.
- Lead or support network-related projects from planning through implementation.
- Develop business cases and cost estimates for network upgrades or expansions.
- Utilize network management and monitoring tools (Logic Monitor, PRTG, Meraki).
- Maintain configuration standards and disaster recovery playbooks.
- Document changes and maintain accurate asset inventories.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and work in fast-paced environments.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
- 10+ years of hands‑on network engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco, Meraki, Juniper, or similar network technologies.
- Experience with routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
- Familiarity with VPNs, VLANs, QoS, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and WAN optimization.
- Certifications:
CCIE, CCNP. - Experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS).
- Experience with VoIP systems (Zoom, Cisco Call Manager, Teams).
- Knowledge of Zero Trust, SASE, SD‑WAN solutions.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written) is required for effective communication with global teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Additional language skills are a plus but not required.
- Primarily office-based or remote work, with occasional on‑site visits to company locations, data centers, or vendor sites.
- Standard business hours, with some flexibility to address network issues outside of regular hours.
- Exposure to computer equipment, server rooms, and network hardware is expected.
- Occasionally lifts or moves network equipment or servers up to 25 lbs (11 kg).
- Ability to access raised floors, racks, or cabling trays as needed.
