Job DescriptionThe Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and delivering complex IT projects from initiation through completion. This role manages multiple projects concurrently, ensures alignment with enterprise architecture, maintains stakeholder communication, and delivers solutions that meet business objectives within scope, schedule, and quality standards.
Requirements / Must Have- University degree in business, management, or related discipline with 4+ years of Project Management experience, OR
- Two-year diploma with 6+ years of Project Management experience, OR
- One-year certificate with 7+ years of Project Management experience, OR
- 8+ years of Project Management experience
- Experience defining project scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders
- Experience developing project deliverables including project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs, and project closures
- Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
- Experience managing large, complex custom software application development projects developed in-house
- Ability to complete mandatory training including Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Security Awareness training
- Coordinate and deliver IT projects from initiation through completion
- Establish project timelines, assign tasks, and track progress to ensure objectives are met
- Compile project charters and business/project plans to support delivery activities
- Document business requirements and manage design and delivery of IT solutions aligned with enterprise architecture
- Develop recommendations including resource requirements, dependencies, risks, and methodology
- Produce and package project deliverables for presentation to stakeholders and steering committees
- Manage project governance, resources, and multiple concurrent initiatives
- Maintain effective communication with project sponsors and escalate risks as required
- Collaborate with business and IT leadership to define project scope, objectives, assumptions, timelines, risks, benefits, and budgets
- Define project organization structures with clear roles and responsibilities
- Track and report project status against milestones, budget, scope, and resources
- Develop project schedules, estimates, and work plans, and take corrective action when needed
- Provide guidance to project resources on priorities and deliverables
- Support change management and communication planning activities
- Assess project outcomes and identify improvement opportunities for future initiatives
- Work within PMO standards and assist in defining new standards where required

- Experience leading change management and communication planning
- Experience working in or for the public sector
- Experience supporting government reorganization projects involving IMT changes
- Senior leadership experience in the public sector
- Degree, diploma, certificate, or equivalent professional experience in business, management, or a related field
