Network and Computer System Administrator – Senior
Dev Technology Group is hiring a Senior Network and Computer System Administrator to support a high‑performing team responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex IT infrastructure in support of a government customer. We are looking for a detail‑oriented and proactive administrator with deep technical knowledge of network environments and a strong commitment to maintaining system security, reliability, and performance.
The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, communicates clearly, and brings a collaborative spirit to problem‑solving and system improvement.
You will be responsible for administering and maintaining LAN/WAN environments, supporting both physical and virtual infrastructures, and managing network components including servers, workstations, routers, switches, and security systems. You will support secure user access, ensure consistent network availability, and troubleshoot performance issues. You’ll work closely with internal teams and vendors, create network documentation, monitor systems, and maintain compliance with federal IT security standards and best practices.
This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, a customer‑focused mindset, and the ability to manage tasks independently.
Skills:
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 4 to 8 years of experience administering complex and mixed network environments.
- Experience configuring and maintaining servers, workstations, switches, routers, hubs, and communications infrastructure.
- Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory and administering user accounts, passwords, and email systems.
- Experience implementing and enforcing security policies following government and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in maintaining virtual environments and working with virtual servers.
- Experience generating monitoring logs and reports, and ensuring functionality and uptime of server links.
- Experience documenting network topologies and supporting configuration management.
- Experience working with vendor support and internal IT teams to resolve outages and performance issues.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Self‑starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
Experience:
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent experience.
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or equivalent experience.
Skills:
- Security+ and A+ certifications.
- Experience in network engineering and support for federal government projects.
- Experience supporting cloud‑based or hybrid network environments.
- Must possess an active Secret clearance (or above).
- Must be able to work onsite Monday through Friday in Washington, D.C.
