** Data Systems Engineer plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the organization’s data warehouse and reporting systems ensuring accessibility and reliability of data for BI reporting and analytics. They administer ETL processes, oversee BI reporting systems, monitor data processing schedules, and troubleshoot issues to maintain continuity and accuracy.  By setting up data adapters and connections, they enable seamless integration and accessibility of data across systems ensuring operational efficiency and enhancing data availability and collaboration across the organization.

* Essential Responsibilities:

*** (20 %) Assist meeting with data owners/stewards, business lines and IT to develop and implement data pipeline solutions to/from the data warehouse and enterprise reporting system.* (25 %) Assist with monitoring, troubleshooting, resolving issues and optimizing the data processing, job scheduling, data model and ETL flows.* (20 %) Assist with maintaining software applications on current releases in addition to troubleshooting and resolving complex performance, availability and software bug issues within the data warehouse and enterprise reporting tool set.
* (15 %) Assist in reviews of data flow, dashboard and reporting performance while researching and testing ways to improve performance, availability and system usability.* (10 %) Assist with developing, maintaining and running a set of test scripts after network changes, patching, upgrades or conversions often after normal business hours.* (10%) Create and maintain documentation for system installs, configurations and troubleshooting.
** Required Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
*** Bachelors Degree
* Minimum Relevant Experience 2 years
* Experience reviewing and understanding a variety of source data, systems and business processes to develop and maintain effective data connections, flows and systems.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Experience and proficiency working with data, databases, SQL (or other database language) and ETL tools.
* Experience with system administration, troubleshooting and issue resolution.
** Preferred Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
*** Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics.
* Certifications in System Administration, Data Management, ETL tools or Data Modeling
* Desired Relevant Experience 3 years
* Experience and proficiency in data modeling and building/maintaining data flows and connections within data warehouse
* Experience and proficiency in data transformation, integration, aggregation and data cleansing
* Experience and proficiency working with data, databases, SQL (or other database language) and ETL tools.
** Job Environment &

Physical Requirements:

*** Hybrid work environment with work from home ability but in office as requested for training and in person meetings.  Note that this may change at any time and prospective candidates must be willing to work in the office full time if the SECU hybrid work policy were to change.
* Other requirements include sitting and working at a computer for prolonged periods.
