Team OverviewThis opening is to support two ARTs made up of several teams supporting various technology platforms within the Investment Management portfolio. The products and teams are in various stages of their Agile transformation journey. The Release Train Engineer is viewed as a chief Scrum Master and partners with portfolio product and technical leadership to ensure alignment with their strategies to provide guidance, facilitation and coaching to the Agile Release Trains using a Lean-Agile mindset.
The Release Train Engineer is a master of facilitation for all program level events including Program Increment Planning, Inspect & Adapt Workshops and Scrum of Scrums. They are a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train.
We’re seeking an exceptionally talented Release Train Engineer with a specific focus on the following:
What you’ll do- Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Agile Release Train using various tools, such as the Program and Solution Kanban and other information radiators such as dashboards and templates.
- Plan, facilitate and organize SAFe Program Increment planning and its communication.
- Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through pre- and post-PI planning meetings facilitate the PI planning event; summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives.
- Share an agile mindset with a focus on Lean-Agile principles and systems thinking.
- Assist with managing risks and dependencies and addressing critical bottlenecks; serve as the primary escalation contact for the Scrum Master community as a servant leader.
- Elevate Scrum Masters’ performance and mentor them to increase their teams’ understanding of Agile principles and practices.
- Provide a safe space which promotes relentless improvement and continuous learning.
- Guide and coach the Scrum team on how to use agile practices and principles to deliver quality products and business value.
- Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets.
- Build and support high-performing Agile teams and Agile Release Trains.
- Assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities.
- Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including the Scrum of Scrums.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Agile or SAFe certifications preferred.
- 2+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer.
- Advanced knowledge of the Lean-Agile mindset, using various methodologies, techniques, and frameworks, such as Scrum, Kanban and XP, to deliver solutions. Experience using Jira, Clarity, or similar tools.
- Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills.
- A bias towards action and driving for results.
- Ability to identify problems and guide the teams to a resolution.
